Not Painting - Aiguablava

Aiguablava is as coastal region in North Eastern Spain, North of Barcelona on the Costa Brava.

This is part of a series of 'digitally-native' paintings usually made on iPad and in this case re-coded on a computer in vectors. I call the process 'not painting' – it is an amalgam of painting, code, digital, printmaking and design.  This collection revisits themes from my physical paintings from 40 years ago. A visual language that emerged out of drawing (landscapes initially) and obsessively repeating the same subject. I reduced to a minimal set of marks that are as much to do with handwriting as drawing. This series is digital and so the size can be adjusted to your wishes within the limitation of printing.

Here is an animated HDR version which uses SVG animation that loads HDR colour. To see HDR your viewport must be Chrome/Brave/Opera (at time of creating), you must also have a P-3 compatible display. HDR colour has a glowing effect. If you don't have the right capability, you will see a vanilla colour change.
